Today the Buckingham palace will be showered with the Indian music and Indian colors. The Changing of Guard ceremony at official residence of Queen of England will take place against the backdrop of the Oscar winning ‘JAI HO’ by AR Rahman, to mark the official launch of the UK-India year of culture.2017 is going to be filled with events and exhibitions celebrating Indian and British culture
Later in the evening, Queen Elizabeth II along with her family will host a grand reception to celebrate the launch. Finance Minister Arun Jaitely with a delegation of Indian parliamentarians and some Indian celebrities will also join the Queen for attending the reception. “The reception will bring together the best of British and Indian culture and creativity, represented through a range of high-profile guests with an interest in both countries,” a Buckingham Palace statement said.
The highlight of the evening will be the special Indian themed menu of canapes. Royal collection inculding some previous royal visits to India, gifts from India, ancint Indian manuscripts will be on display.
The UK-India year of culture was announced by PM Modi during his November 2015 visit to UK and is aimed to deep cultural ties and 70th year of independence. The step will also help India to get the economic advantages which is crucial for India’s development.
