Himachal Pradesh chief minister, Virbhadra Singh’s son in law Akansh died in Chandigarh on Friday, after he was crushed under the wheels of a luxury car.
Akansh was critically injured after two youths from Punjab in a BMW car hit him early on Thursday in Chandigarh’s upscale Sector 9. The car driver did not stop the vehicle and crushed the victim’s head under its wheels. The accused then drove away in the car from the spot.
The victim was rushed by his friends to PGIMER where he was admitted to the intensive care unit and later declared dead. As per the information available the deceased was engaged in a physical argument with the accused.
The Chandigarh Police registered a case of attempt to murder against the car occupants, identified as Harmehtab Singh, great grandson of a former leading politician in Punjab, and Balraj Randhawa.
Virbhadar Singh said he is planning to take up the matter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh as he is predicting that it is not an accident but a planned murder.
Virbhadar Singh has been into headlines since a long time due to his involvement in a scam. He is once again into the limelight due to murder of his brother in law, which according to him is a plotted political killing.
