During American presidential election trump made several promises to America, many promises were controversial and some were down right outrageous which caused Trump to take some heat. His most controversial and outrageous comment was towards Mexicans that “When Mexico sends it people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people,” he said. Following this he said that they are going to build a wall that will divide Mexico and America and trump will make Mexico to pay for that wall. A few months later he again stated that “we have no country if we have no border,” Trump said during the third presidential debate on Oct. 19, 2016, reiterating his desire to build a wall. “We have some bad hombres here and we’re goanna get ’em out.” The remark sparked immediate reaction on Twitter.
The US President has insisted that Mexico will pay for the vast construction, stretching all the way from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Coast. It cuts through the undulating and beautiful landscape of the border country. However, but a vast barrier already covers more than a third of the proposed 1,900-mile-long structure. But engineers will have a big task ahead of them as it will be difficult to make wall on sloping mountains.
The wall that president’s plans on building will cost around £8billion and thats just the rough estimates it might jump to somewhere around £20billion. This will pose another problem for America as presently there are 20,000 border guards that guards the boundary between Mexico and America, but after Trump’s intervention, they would have to recruit 5000 more personnel. But the biggest question today America’s facing is who is going to pay the ridiculous amount. According to Trump, 20 per cent tax will be imposed on Mexican imports might help for the construction of wall.
But Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto stated that his nation exports more than £200 billion worth of goods north of the border every year. He further stated that he might have cancel NAFTA meeting as Trump is not backing from his comment on how he is going to make Mexico pay for that wall.
